Production Meeting Reflection 4

This week the my job duty was to complete a camera script with the other camera operators I done this by getting the master script and filling out my role of a job of a camera operator. I also had to figure which camera shots to so where it can be used that I need to use for the music magazine TV show live day.

The successful thing that I done this week was finishing my part of the camera operator role of the script of the music magazine tv show and to complete all of  my work on the deadline and all of my multi camera work is up to date.

What I intend to change is a couple of the camera shots for the camera operator script for the music magazine TV show. I also developed the camera script by including more camera movements and many different camera shots to make it more effective.
The work that I intend to do next week is have a practice run of my part of a camera operator to see if anything that could be improved. Also to see which shot would be good to film for the live day  for example what camera shot and movements that I could use for the live day.

This week I worked well with my team we all helped each other out on the work and we also completed the camera script together to see which shot would go well and if it look more effective.

Summaries the duties you performed this week within your role?
This week the duties that I had to perform were to take nine photos from different camera positions and movements that we are going to use for our media live day and what camera shots that I have used for example medium shot, close up and also long shot. For each of the nine photos that I have taken I had to describe what each photo represents  in the locations that we have used and how this is useful with the position of the areas of the studio that we are going to use for our music video live day.
What has been successful this week?
This week has been successful as I got my work done before the deadline and also taking photos of where the camera maybe set. Also where the movement would be in the main studio for the live day.
What do you need to change or develop and why?
I needed to add more camera movements that would work in each of the nine  photos and I also need to develop my ideas of the camera positions and the movements.
What do you intend to do next week?
The work that I intend to do next week is to start the camera script for my part of filming that I use with the space and area that I have.
How did you work with your team this week was it effective?
I worked well with my hierarchical and the other camera operators that have helped me and given me some ideas of  what I can do. This was effective as we worked as a team we helped each other out with the work for the different camera positions and movements that I can use within my role of a camera operator.

Production Meeting Reflection 2

This week in our production meeting everyone in the class was given their job roles. My job is a camera operator  I had to do a health and safety hazard ten rule for a camera operator for a tv studio. For example me and the other camera operators had to go in the studio and find any hazards that might happen when recording with the other camera operators.Also after finishing the health and safety rule hazard for the camera operator,  for the music magazine tv show everyone had to give their hazard rule for their job roles for the music magazine tv show.The group responded  to health and safety hazard rules I informed the group the rules and what the hazards where in a tv studio. Also I had given  more health and safety rules of the camera operator and I had to explain why I have used them as a hazard rule for the music magazine show.The successful thing is I finished the health and safety hazard rules for the camera operator in the tv studio.The things that needed changing was some  of the heath and safety hazard rules.To have another production meeting for the music magazine show.I am a camera operator so I was working with the other camera operators and also the director this was effective. I found this a very important part to play. The health and safety hazard rule is the most important rule of all, if health and safety did not exist there would be a lot of problems.

Summaries how the production meeting was run?
The day of the production meeting I had to discuss my idea of the music magazine TV show. I had to present what was going to happen in the show and what the music magazine TV show will include. We all had to write what was good about the other people in the class ideas.

What was the groups response to your idea?
The groups response to my ideas was how unique my idea was because in my idea I included social media so the audience at home can participate with the guest that are going to be on the music magazine TV show. Also the groups response of my ideas was what my logo of the music magazine TV show is going to look like and what guest am I going to have and also a VT of three music videos that will be on the show. The group also liked my idea of the pre-recording by going to a different location and asking fans what they like about the guest and what favorite song they like the guest to play.

Whose idea did you vote for?
The idea that I voted for is Chloe's.
What did you like about the idea?
I liked Chloe's idea because it included social media for the fans to participate to the music magazine TV show for example Snapchat. The title of the music magazine TV show is called Feel The Music. Her idea also included latest news about celebrity and music artists and will have been pre-recorded footage and will also have games for the viewers to interact with.

What aspects related to the brief?
The brief of the music magazine TV show is aimed at 14-20 year olds and the ideas that is related to the brief was the interaction with the audience so the can give questions to the guest that are on the music magazine TV show.

What areas do you think needed development?
The areas that I think needed development was having a female presenter to be on the music magazine tv show because the show only has male presenters on it and I think it should include females.

What other ideas did people have that you think could be incorporated into the final idea?
The other ideas that I like from other people was from classmate Kori because his idea included more audience interaction with the guests on the show. For example social media and also audience calling from Skype.

Treatment for Multi-Camera Music Magazine Show

Programme format
The TV show will last for half an hour with the technique of multi-camera and is based on a music magazine TV show. The target audience for the music magazine TV show is aimed at teenagers and young adults from age of 14-20 year old. Our class had to come up with an idea that will benefit the age of the title. 

Title of show

The target audience of  our music magazine TV show is aimed at teenagers so when creating the title for the TV show, we had to make it related to the target audience that will be watching it. The title of the music magazine TV show is 'BMV 4 You' stands for British Music Video. I created this title because I think it would relate to music, on the left is my logo. The logo would contain two musical notes on both sides of the logo to make it relate to music and the audience would know what the topic is all about. The colour that I have chosen is light blue and light red because it stands out. I wanted to go for a young and fresh feel and a funky image also I have put more than one colour on my logo to make this appeal to the younger audience that would be watching the music magazine TV show.


Content ideas
The music magazine TV show would include interviews with the music artists and will also contain a wide range of topics that are related to music.The magazine TV show would have a fast pace motion of all of the set of the studio so the audience can see the set in different camera shots. For example the presenters, camera people that are getting ready to start the show.

Pre recorded footage that I would have for the show would be an interview with the musician or artiste who will be interviewed about their new music. The pre recorded shows that would show the artist touring the studio and have the audience giving their opinions on a music video or an artist.

Another thing that I would have on the magazine show is reviews of music videos that are releasing soon. Then I would have on the music magazine TV show  the main stars from one video to have an interview with some world famous singers for exclusives. The music magazine TV show would also have the music videos of people that are in my class the music videos that I am going to use is kori's Leo's group and also my group. I would include competitions to make the show more enjoyable to watch so the audience can join in by calling and trying to win competitions for concerts. The game that I am talking about is all about knowing which songs that are being played and the guests have to name them as soon as possible to win the points that will be at the end of the music TV magazine show.

Studio design
The studio design that I would have in the music magazine TV show is like the pictures below because they have light lighting. This is what I would have in my own music magazine TV show. I have chosen this style because I think it would be more suitable for the target audience that are watching. Also the images states where the guest are going to set up to play music and also where the guest are going to sit and to show where the camera would be in which direction of the studio of the magazine show.















Sketch of background

The sketch of the background that I would use for my music magazine TV show is to have my logo with images of musical notes. To make the background sketch more eye-catching for the viewers that are watching the music TV magazine show. Also I wanted my background of the music TV show to be like other music shows but with more designs. Also I think my sketch of my background suit to the music magazine TV show and the sketch of the background is aimed for 14-20 year old that will be watching I think its very original and up to date with the young people will find it interesting and be curious to watch it.

Visual styles
The visual styles that I would have for the music magazine TV show is by having graphics of my logo. Also by having fast pace cutting to make the music magazine show more professional the colours that I would have to be light  for example light red and blue. For the music magazine TV show I would have lots of camera shots for example long shot, medium shot and also close ups to make the make the music TV show more interesting and upbeat to make the audience stay watching the music music magazine TV show.

Presentation style
The presenters that I will have in my music video TV show are Yanick and Connor. I picked Yanick because he likes to present work to the class and he is suitable for the job role for the multi- camera music magazine TV show. I also picked Connor because he is independent on working in front of a camera and he isn't shy. The clothing that the presenters are going to wear is causal stuff they are also going to talk at steady speed to the people that are watching and be clear in what they say.

Duties
The duties of a Camera operator is to set up the equipment and to make sure all of the cameras are working before the show starts, if this doesn't happen the equipment might not work when the show has started.  This would make the show delayed and would lose the viewers at home.
 Also the duties of a camera operator is to be able to work as part of a team especially in  multi-camera shots .Another one is to understand the health and safety rule the camera operator has to make sure they don't break the health and safety rules.

Skill

• The skill of a camera operator is to have a good vision and to be able to follow instruction that are given to them at anytime if they need to point the camera at the presenter or a  guest that are on a show
• .The skill of a camera operator is to have good  framing and composing shot and to move the cameras at a  fast speed.
• The skill of a camera operator is to have a good stamina to working  long hours and be fit enough to  move heavy equipment if they don't have good stamina the camera operator injure themselves easily by moving the equipment.

Sound Mixing

Duties

The duties of  sound mixing is to know which type of microphone to use and select the additional audio gear if this  is not checked someone might have the wrong microphone and the audio gear might turn off during a tv show.Another job of  sound mixing is to mix the sound levels to produce a final product and to make sure the sound is suitable for the audience that is watching the show. Make script notes the sound mixing should have a shooting script in case if they needed to re-film anything.

Skills

• The Skill of  sound mixing is achieve the role and have to be a strong communicator and effective designated. The sound mixing has makes sure the sound is accurate at a decent level for the audience to hear the communicator.
• The skill of  sound mixing is concentrate for long time the sound mixing has to keep their focus at all times when the television show is broadcasting live and they cant do anything wrong.
• Audio and sound equipment the sound mixing has to have the presenter and the guest on the show having a good hearing.

Duties

The duties of vision mixing is to have knowledge of the requirement of the health and safety rule and make sure that nobody gets hurt.The second duties of vision mixing is to be able to work on a variety of different vision mixing desks and equipment to get a good vibe for the TV show.The last duties of vision mixing is be able to stay calm and react quickly and accurately under pressure if something goes wrong while the show is being aired live and  this could be fixed.

• The skill of vision mixing is to be able to multitask by doing more than one thing during when the show is live.

• concentration and stamina by when the sound mixing is changing of the entire visuals of the TV show so the audience would watch the show.Also having hard working so this would look effective.

Directing 

Duties

The duties of directing is to be aware of and value the contribution of all crew members to the creation of the final programmer and to work with them in a good  manner.Also the other duties of directing is to pay attention to detail that is being shown on the live tv show.The last duties of directing is to show sensitivity when working with the producers by responding to their ideas that are given from the cast.Translate the ideas of the writer and other people vision into an enjoyable program for the viewers to watch.

Set Designer

Duties

The duties of set designer is to estimate the cost and prepare a production schedule and to make sure that what is going to happen next. Study scripts by discussing the set designer ideas with the director for before the show starts to see what should happen next. The last duty is  to create effective designs that are within the budget that is available to them.

Skill

• The skill of set designer is to have practical skills in drawing and model making of whats going to happen during the show.
• Skill of set designer to be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines before the show starts if this didn't happen the set design would not be good.
• Last skill of set designer is to have Good knowledge of the production process that are including technical aspects for example lighting and sound at when the show is live to get the attention of the audience that are watching.

Lighting Desk

Duties
The first duty of lighting desk is not to break the health and safety rule during the tv show if this breaks the rule someone would get injured and the show would be delayed.The second duty is to make sure that the equipment is working in case the equipment might break or they will not change the lighting or the colour in a different direction. .The last duty of lighting desk is to research and gather information before the show starts.

Skill

• The skill of a lighting desk is to work in a team and to take part by giving ideas to the people that you are working with and other people giving their own ideas to make the sure more better.
• Another skill of lighting desk is to be able to work for longer hours if the show is longer than its usual or if something goes wrong and the show would have to be delayed.
• The last skill of lighting desk is solve skills if one of the equipment isn't working.

Floor Manger

Duties
Check equipment every floor manager has to make sure that all of the equipment is working before the show starts. If this doesn't happen the equipment might not work when the show is airing live and this would mean the audience would not be able to hear what the presenter is saying to the guest and this would be a bad thing for the company. The fact  is filming the tv show not proper;y would lose viewers and also lose a lot of money. Is giving idea and time count for example the presenters and the guests that are on the tv show. Floor plans the floor manager has to refer to the floor plans of where everybody is siting for example the presenters and the guest that are on the show. For example where everyone would be sitting or standing.

Skill

• Organisation skills the floor manager has to have good skills for the TV show. This means the floor manager is in charge of the stage of the TV show and they have to make sure the  show runs smoothly for the audience to watch at home.

• Decisions the floor manager has a dutie of making decisions of whats going to happen on the main floor.If something goes wrong it would be the floor manager fault and this would slow down the show.

• Reliable the floor manager has to be reliable and they have to become more independent and to be more organised if this happened the floor manager would get a warning because they weren't doing their jobs.

Graphics Generation

Duties
To talk about the requirements is for the graphic generation is to work with people. For example talking to people on what will be on the television show and which animations to use if this isn't used many of the colleagues might not like the ideas of the graphics generation.Another thing is  to talk about the requirements of the project with the people you are working with to decide what is the age limit for the viewers that are watching the tv show at home.Meet the deadlines every graphics generation must meet the deadlines that are given to them by their boss. To make sure that the style of the graphics is completed for the show to air.

Skill

• Is to have good drawing skills this is the import thing for graphics generation to air their designs on a television show to the audience.The graphic generation designs on the show has to be well designed for the audience. If this doesn't happen this would make the TV show boring and it will make the TV show unprofessional.
• Printing and photography every graphic generation has to print and photography everything of the TV show.
• Good idea the graphics generation has to have a good visual idea of what designs are going to be on the show for example adding photos and video for a TV show.

VT Operator 

Duties
Duties of a vt operator is to be prepared when you arrive to work vt operators should know what to do and what tapes that they need to put on. If the vt operator don't know what to do they might play the wrong tapes in and the would be lead to disappointment when the show is live and it would take up a lot of time.The second duty is to bring the right equipment into work if there is not tape the vt operator can not do nothing and this would waste time.The last duty is to make sure when the vt needs to come on the air on the right time  to make sure that it fits in with the show.

Skill

• The skills of a VT operator is to have good knowledge of video tapes this is important for the VT operator that they know how to use the right machine that uses the video tape and to make sure you take care of the tapes.
• The second skill VT operator is be aware of the heath and safety rule and make sure that anyone get hurt when using the electrical equipment.
• The last skills of the VT operator is work under pressure when the show is live showing which camera needed to be cut.

Qualifications

Presenter

Duties
Be on time to work. The presenter must be ready to present in front of the cameras on time.If the presenter is not at work on time the television show might be cancelled or delayed to a later time. If this does happen the television show would lose a lot of viewers and would lose profit for the company that is playing the television show. Follow instructions  The presenter must follow instructions  that are given to he or she if this does not happen the presenter would get a warning or maybe get fired for not following the topic that they are going to talk about to the viewers.Prepare your own scripts the presenter has to prepare he or she has to be well organised for example if they go a television show they would not know what  to talk about and this would make the television show boring to watch.

Skill

• Be able to work various of work at a time a presenter must be able to work at any time even every day or night.This is because if someone drop out of a show another presenter will have to present the show themselves to make the television show is aired for the audience. 
• To research interviewing skill a presenter must research interviewing skills because when the have a guest on the show the presenter must know everything about the guest and what they do.
•  Have a good memory the television presenter must have a good memory for example a television presenter has to remember every thing that they are going to say.

The Royal Rumble 2008

Practical Reasons 

For the sport genre I chose the world wrestling entertainment royal rumble 2008.  This is a special moment considered for many wrestling fans as it marks the return of the wrestling superstar John Cena. The wrestling show is a fast pace action themed therefore it is important to have many cameras in order to be able to get all the shots of the action in the stadium.  This is well planned out through the media technique known as multi-camera simultaneous recording coverage of action (live and spontaneous). The use of multiple cameras enables viewers to see the entire action, including the reaction of the wrestlers, referee as well as the audience. By having lots of cameras the cameramen can cut to show the crowds reaction of a superstar wining the royal rumble match such as at 1:38. The advantages of multiple cameras are that the audiences get a better view of the action and it makes the show flow smoothly. However multiple cameras means more money is being used. Another technique used is coverage of action, which enable viewers to see the full view of the arena as well as close ups of the wrestlers.  This is shown at 1:18 – 1:21 where one wrestler throws another wrestler over the ropes and then cuts to another scene of the wrestler on the floor.

Aesthetic reasons  
In this clip the visual style and mode of address  is aggressive especially when a superstar returns from injury. This is shown at  0:33-0:52 as John Cena enters the arena, the audience is getting excited and going wild while the other wrestler is starring at him angrily.  This creates a tense violent vibe for the audience by cutting to the wrestlers both in long shots and close ups to show their angry expressions. Multi camera filming also means the producer can communicate  meaning to the viewer. In this clip they do this  by having a wrestler coming out to the ring and showing off to the audience and then cutting  to another shot of a wrestler who is  looking at him in disbelief and  disgust.  This connotes the two wrestlers have a deep dislike for each other and that the wrestling match could get violent at 0:34-0:38.

Practical Reasons

The multi-camera concert that I have chosen is Justin Timberlake who is performing his smash hit song 'Mirrors' at the Brits awards. This is a prestigious event which attracts famous musicians therefore it is vital for the concert to run as planned. One way for this is using the technique coverage of action which displays the entire view of the concert which includes the artist, the artist's band as well as the audience members. Another practical technique of the concert is multi-camera simultaneous recording coverage of action(live and spontaneous).  An example of this is at 0:41-0:45 which shows a close up of the artist therefore reflecting his emotions to the audience. However at 0:05-0:19 there are different views of the curtain in the arena which builds up tension and excitement as the audience know that the singer is hidden behind the curtain.  After there is a long shot of the artist walking towards the main stage and then a shot of the audience at 0:25-0:31. This keeps the viewers more entertain and makes them feel as if they are at the concert. The advantages of these techniques is that they record the entire arena and are able to get various types of shots such long shots, medium shots and close ups. The disadvantages are that the cameramen must be trained and well skilled to perform the various types of camera angles.

Aesthetic Reasons
The concert performance video consist of visual style & mode of address when using multi-camera for his back-up musicians and also has different camera angles from each direction the feeling of the concert has a upbeat  by having lots of different camera shots of Justin Timberlake with his back-up musicians. For example, a low angle is displayed at 2:04 which shows the entire band along with the main performer Justin Timberlake and an over the shoulder shot at 2:33 which shows the the back-up musicians playing the instruments. Another multi-camera technique is maintaining viewer interest, this music video clip shows the main artist by having different shots as the main artist is performing at 2:30. All these techniques help enhance the viewer's pleasure.

Practical Reasons

The public event I have chosen is the Fifa World Cup 2014 opening ceremony hosted in Brazil.The World Cup is viewed as one of the biggest sporting event in the world.It occurs every 4 years.At 0:00 the multi-camera technique that is being used is coverage of action as the camera shows the full view of the Arena De Sao Paulo stadium along with the audience.Another camera technique applied was multi-camera simultaneous recording coverage of action (live and spontaneous) where the intersection between many cameras are easy on the eyes of the viewers.An example of this is at 1:15 where the camera zooms in on the performers at 1:46 multiple cameras cut from one performer to another performer. The advantage of using this technique is that the audience get a more persuade feel of the public event as the camera close up at the performers however simultaneously the audience is missing out on the view of the whole event.

Aesthetic Reasons
Without the use of multi-cameras the audience would not be able to see any close up shots of the performers.
